Pre-1995 Helmets?
 

I am looking for any of the following Pre-1995 bicycle helmets. i will pay between one hundred and two hundred dollars for each of any of the followinging:
a pre-1995 MSR
a pre-1995 Bell Avalanche or Memphis (only with pigtails - Not pump)
a pre-1995 Avenir VSR
i am located in los angeles CA but will arrange whatever shipping is necessary

I still have my 1986 Vetta. The kids use it with cantelopes to demonstrate why you should wear a helmet.

Well, I finally replaced my ancient Bell V-1 Pro with a modern Bell Alchera last month.
Helmets sure have changed a lot!

Mine is bright yellow hard shell, like a highway warning sign.:)

That could be along the lines of what we want. does it have pig tail retension in the back?
if it does, please let me know. that is important to our research

I got rid of my black one but my wife still has a cool turquoise colored one with the smoke visor.

for any of the people with Vetta's, do they any sort of adjustable retension at the base of the helmet? if so, send pictures because we'll probably want them

I have a variflex magnum dated June 1994 if you are interested

1977 MSR hardshell. I've skittered across a couple of frozen waterfalls in this thing. People tell me I should bury it. Nope.

My Vetta does not have that - only standard straps.

Those are really cool. bell actually made one that was virtually the same as the orig MSR, but with slightly different vents. they're like modified climbing helmets.

i got an airlite atom, (wotever the heck that is ? ) lol

ask around if anyone has the list of helmets i'm after over there (i figure oz is a couple of years behind so some people still might be holding onto them)

yeah we are a bit behind (we,re getting electricity next week) pmsl !

I still use the same helmet I bought ages ago. I seem to remember it being a Bell, but I couldn't begin to guess the model or even tell you how old it is. It's plain white (now yellowed) plastic about 3mm thick (5 at the rim) and has 8 vent holes in, in overall shape as near half-a-globe as is consistent with fitting a human skull. The ANSI Z90.4 polystyrene liner was glued in, but is now loose. The only possible identifier is a Kajima Chemical Company sticker on the inside. It has a serial number, if that would help identify it.
