Remember when you said (in the C-list Finds thread) you'd like to "...fixie this thing so it wouldn't breed?"

You're too late

Incedentally, to the other fellows on BF here: This is the first time I've tried Mafac Racers on any bike. My opinion on them? They make those garbage Weinmann 999s look GOOD...

P.S.: I found a C-8.5 silver 1974 Raleigh Sports at one of the LBS's - problem is, he wants $250. Would probably go down to $200. Missing rear reflector and chainguard, and that's it - otherwise, a beautiful example in 19.5". Including a photo. You might want to go check it out, for, although it is somewhat overpriced, it is a very nice example that you won't have to pay shipping costs for...

So you got it. Paint looks good. What year?

If the Raliegh had everything on it, I'd pay around $200, but the chainguard is a deal breaker.

Paint is not as good as it looks - particularly thin on the top tube. Typical French!

Have no idea what year it is - is there a serial chart for these things?

Well, perhaps I can dig up a silver chainguard for you. Possibly a rear reflector.

Take care,

-Kurt
