Excellent! How it works is, we all waste far too much time talking about bikes. On the plus side, if you need to identify something, or something is stuck and you don't know how to shift it, or you want to know where to find some obscure part (apart from in the pile in your garden) somebody will usually know.

The SPT artical was really a Gas, nice people.
I finnally bought an Old Travel Trailer and have converted it to a work shop/storage shed.
If you guys haven't done the craigslist thing it's Great, you may never want to go back to Ebay.

The last three framesets I've moved have been on Craigslist....in Maine, no less.
Not the Hottest bicycle market.

I have been blessed to have a couple of Bike Nutz that I write to in New Haven and Chicago who both do well with craigslist, good for finding those treasures too. I picked up a 1967 Stingray and a 1964 Schwinn Corvette locally from it. Like anything else you got to get up early to get the deals.

Welcome David. I'm with you on craigslist; in the past two years I've sold about 70 bikes I've refurbished on CL. The longest it ever took was nine days once. Usually it's more like one or two.

Another great thing here is when you find a really great bike, you can post pics of it here and all your pals will either pick it to pieces or tell you how much you suck. Or both. :D

Here at BikeForums, you can even find some interesting potential for trades in one of the sticky threads...

I have personally done a few small trades, and it has been fun.

It is also amazing when someone mentions in a thread that they have their eyes open for a specific bike or component, and one of the next messages will be "you have PM" (PM is private mail)

Speaking of which, I am late mailing some items I have promised to others... Some pedal dust caps will be mailed this weekend. :o

Welcome aboard! You'll find all of the areas on BF fun and helpful, my favorites are Classic & Vintage, Fifty Plus (it's OK if you're not fifty yet) and Bicycle Mechanics. Overall, everyone is friendly and helpful in these three areas. Some of the other areas (like Road Cycling and Advocacy) have some rabble rousers but overall BikeForums is a great place to hang out. You're doing a good thing with your efforts, I envy you :) ....
