Nos Puch Bicycles

Hi. Anyone out there able to help me. I have in my possesion three(3) NOS PUCH Bicycles. They are still in the cartons. I opened one and found a white model H CLUBMAN. Anybody know the value of these? And is there anyone out there with any interest? Thanks. Ray

Puch was part of Austro-Daimler/Puch built in Austria.
Built and imported in the mid to late 70s into the US. The Clubman is one of the lower end models. Possibly a collector 'could' be interested.
The 'Vent Noir' A/D model is collectible and quite nice.

What size are they? If they are Austrian made, rather than Japanese "Made for Puch" I might be interested in one.

What size are the frames? Pictures? Are all three Clubmans? Where are the bikes located?

Quick bit of advice: With this crowd, grab a digital camera, gently open the boxes, pull the bikes out and photograph them. No doubt they're tied together for shipping. You don't need to mess with the strapping - but this crowd absolutely DEMANDS pictures in a situation like this.

While you've got the bike out of the crate, measure the seat tube length (center of bottom bracket/crankset to top of the tube), and note any names on any components. You've probably got something very saleable there, probably not enough to put you in retirement, but it'll get you a few weeks of beer money, but you HAVE to come up with the details.

Hammy555, More info is needed, please, in order to help. Steyr-Dailmer-Puch made a wide variety of bikes from entry-level to very nice. For the US market, top-of-the line models were sold as Austro-Daimler, including Ultima, Vent Noir, Olympian with Reynolds 531 frames.

Off topic...

Nice new avatar picture bigbossman! And my wife loved the Schwinn mixtie 3-speed for Christams.
I posted pics on the mixtie thread.

Happy New Year!

thanks - hard to go wrong with a "Vintage and Classic" Like Elizabeth Montgomery. Alas, as it is a seasonal themed Christmas pic, it will be getting replaced with something else soon - what, I don't know.

Not true - I'd be willing to go $20 sight unseen - just pick a box and slap my shipping address on it.

I have to compliment you again on the avatar, bigbossman. One of the classiest 'themed', not to mention properly 'classic', avatars we've seen anywhere on the forums. You'll have to do well to come up with a replacement!

This is possibly a troll. Get the excitement up, and then disappear. I have seen it on a dozen bike boards. The poster will come up, say he or she has a whole hoard of cool old bikes in the style eveyone on that board likes. Then they watch the "I want it" mentaility take over. I don't repond to these threads anymore, cause it's too good to be true most of the time.,,,,BD

Maybe this time it will be different...?

I think you're right Bikedued. He's not filled in any other information in his profile, he's only made two posts, and he hasn't responded since.

interesting take on things.
This post was originally in a different forum and I moved it here.
I did not get the impression that he was trolling. If anything I would
expect a for sale post.

Nah. Even if he does come back, you'll find him to be wary about shipping (for whatever reason ), and notorious for taking two weeks to reply to any email. Good luck if you can get him to send a photo.

They're all like this. I do believe they have the bikes though, they're just fishing for information in the way of the idiot.

Ah, that's right. This was in Introductions. I didn't give my usual welcome speech because I remember thinking a) it didn't belong in Introductions and b) it didn't smell right (but it did smell vaguely fishy).

I think Kurt is correct, just fishing for info, probably to put them on eBay or something.

In the early 1970s the Clubman was Steyr-Daimler-Puch's bottom-of-the-line "10-speed," comparable to the Peugeot AO-8.

Hi. Several people commenting if this is real or not. I do have the bikes, I will sell and ship them. I will send photros to anyone sending me their email address. Or I will post photos here if someone tells me how. All three bikes are white and they are located outside of Madison, Wisconsin. The down post measures 22 inches and the tires have 21 x 1.25 on them. My email address is hcr1@charter.net and my phone number is 608-635-4139. I collect Schwinn Krate bikes and these three came from a bought out inventory of a Schwin shop in Milwaukee. I am now going to take some photos and try to figure out how to post them.

Don't dispair, it is real and they will be sold. They just don't fit into any area that I collect.

Easiest way to post pics is to set up a photobucket acct, upload and paste in the IMG code and you get a pic like this:

Thank you Hammy555, please understand that we get quite a few posts that ask questions, and a few days later someone will notice that exact bike/object for sale on eBay. It does tend to make us a bit grumpy every once in a while.

Ah, Tom beat me to the photo explanation!

We look forward to seeing the photos.
