Schwinn American project on hold.

At least for right now. The rims are so badly rusted and pitted I need to determine whether or not they should be re-chromed or replaced with replica's or if possible N.O.S. I'll first need to figure out if they can be re-chromed. If they can then it will be a matter of what is the most eco-nomical. So long as I have a rim that has the knurled band in the middle & is chromed I'll be happy witht he way it looks, original rim or not. At best I'll have a re-claimed/restored bike, at worst I'll have a good start on usable spare parts for future projects.

So until I figure all this out I'll move on to my next project. My father-in-law is going to let me restore/reclaim his Hiawatha back to ridable condition.
