Raleigh Threading on this Carlton?

Hey guys

I'm talking to Ziemas about setting him up with a touring frame, and we're trying to determine what I have that fits the bill. The Carlton Grand Prix below has eyelets, relaxed geometry, long chainstays, but we're concerned that it might have Raleigh threading on the BB and the headset, and I'm sure you can imagine how hard it would be to get spares in Latvia for that! Anyone know? Sheldon says that the eyelets being behind the dropouts is a good indication, and they're not, they're above, but other things he says suggest that it might be Raleigh threaded, including the cottered cranks. We'd both really appreciate some help!

I'm only guessing, but I'd say that it's likely that the BB is Raleigh-threaded and the HS is standard. It looks like a great candidate for a tourist! Hope somebody who has experience can advise whether there's a work-around for a Raleigh BB that DOESN'T involve re-tapping or an unthreaded BB unit...maybe a Sugino spindle that will work with the Raleigh cups? (ala the "French fix"?)

i don't think they would mix threading on a bike and it seems to be the original fork..
no point guessing.. an easy test would be to just take out the stem and try the headset locknut on one of your other bikes

only non-raleigh replacement i've heard of is using phil wood rings.. even with a shimano bb cartridge it's a bit pricy

I forgot about Phil offering Raleigh-threaded rings...that's here I'd go if it were mine, combined with a JP cartridge unit from my box of orphaned BBs. ;)
But, I HAVE heard of Raleigh Grand Prixs with mixed BB and HS threads, maybe they were rarities or only seen in the US. From what I've seen that fork with the threaded boss on the blade is much less common on US-market Raleigh GPs...(waiting for Cudak888 to shoot me down in flames any second now...)

Its not that hard to test and not guess. That fork rake is better looking than any Grand Prix that made it to the USA by the way.
