I rebuilt this one for my son to ride in hopes he'd join me. Anyway a year and a half and twenty miles later she sits outgrown and unused.
Started as a donor and I spent about $150+ on it, would it be fair to look to recover that??

Thanks.......

$150 doesn't sound bad, if it were closer I'd be temped myself.

Hard to say. It is a nice bike. But no collectors are seeking it out. It is the kind of bike that sometimes can be had at a garage sale for almost nothing. But then, the right person might buy it on Ebay for a couple of hundred. I would guess less on CL, unless you luckily found that right person close by.

I am biased, by the way, I have one just like it and love it.

If you are not in a huge hurry for it to sell, you might put in CL for 150-200. But do not be surprised if you have to relist it a few times before it sells. Spring coming around would help also.

good luck

jim

I think that's a perfectly fair price, given that you reconditioned it and it's completely ride ready. You are essentially giving your labor away for free, which is easily over $100 to any consumer who would have a LBS do the work. I would definitely list at $150, or higher, and hold the price firm. As jgedwa noted, you might wait until Spring to get your price. Good luck!

Thanks for the advise, it confirms my thinking......

I would list that bike on Craigslist for at least $175 in the spring if it was in my area. HEY! You ARE in my area!
(See PM)
