Miyata identification?

I have a Miyata which I believe was purchased new between 78-82, really can't be sure about it. It was my fathers.

The serial number is E803211. The paint scheme is burgandy with chrome forks.

It's condition is good with minor paint scuffs and decal damage. Overall the bike is in good shape and has been garaged for over 15 years at least.

If anyone can help out with the bike model/year and possible value when purchased and now(insurance) I would be very happy. I'm glad to have it and can't wait to finish the cleaning and get riding.

TMAR, if you read this I hear your a great resource for Miyat info, hope you can help.

Jim

Can't address model/year, however:

Good news - it is in fantastic shape
Not so good news - Stem shifters, suicide levers, and 1024 "Hi-Tensile" tubes point directly to low end.

It's circa 1977 or 1978. Appears to be entry level, possibly a Liberty or Americana. Original value would have been around $200 US.
