Picked up my 3rd International. Serial #cj 01305. Its in rough shape, but can be rescued. It came with a Brooks Professional saddle. Can some one give me the year it was made please.

Should be circa 1980 or 1981. I do have the 1981 literature, so if you can post a pic, I should be able to narrow it down.

Internationals are sweet, I am giving mine a new lease on life by getting the frame powder coated and stripping the paint off the fork and polishing the underlying chrome, mine is an 84/85 with cantilevers, you can see that the lugs are not nicely filed, you can see a very deep seam on the bottom of the hi-tensile chainstays but she is so stable and just cruises in a straight line. I was going to retire her in favour of an unknown Japanese touring bike of slightly better tubing quality but after building it up it's just not as comfortable to ride. The international feels more like a buick with cushy suspention, the new bike feels like an oldsmobile in need of a suspension overhal and wheel allignment. I think the cracked and welded DO may have something to do with it so back on the wall it will go to wait for me to find some touring DOs in favour of the international.

I have to learn how to post some pics. I have some nice rides. It looks identical to my 81, except this has a Suntour Vx vs. Shimano 600. This one is cleaning up nice, and I know the ride is so comfortable like your just stretched out totally relaxed and can ride forever. Thanks guys take care.

I had a 73 International and absolutely loved it. Had a SunTour VGT and was one of the best shifting bikes I ever rode.
