Goodbye, old paint
I just got my bike back from Chris Kvale. I bought it used from him in '82, with a fresh paint job. It was made in '78 and was one of his personal bikes. My old reliable road rider and trusty commuter for a long time, it didn't get used much for about 10 years. But last spring and I revived an interest in serious rididing and realized I fit with the C&V crowd. Well one thing led to another, and I decided to have Chris give it a fresh paint job this winter. As much as I loved the old jade green (original pic at the bottom), it was not a stock color anymore and I decided, heck, I needed a midlife-crisis color. So here, fresh out of the box and soon do be decked out in Nuovo Record, Cinelli and yellow Benotto tape:

Ok thanks, fixed it. Will work on the sizing next time around too.

Beautiful. I'm partial to green so I personally would have kept the original. But hey, red and yellow is a good midlife crisis color combo :D

Aaah yeees, the sparkle & shine of fresh paint! :p
Beautiful bike in either color! |
Both colors are great. Beautiful job on the new paintjob, be sure to update the thread when you get it all built back up too.

I think it's particularly cool that you had the original framebuilder do the painting. |

As for an earlier comment about the cable routing, are you refering to the top-of-the bottom bracket routing? I didn't think it was that unusual, although I do like the rather elegant way it's done. |
