Midlevel french bike with OK frame and decent components for 50 $. Be a bit careful if you have to get new headset, BB, stem since everything french is a bit different (Sheldon Brown on french bikes)
For a fixie/SS conversion this could be a nice ride.

Velosolex was its own company in France, separate from Motobecane, that made very early motorized bicycles, as well as a few conventional ones.

Velosolex was famous for its bicycle with auxiliary motor,a small engine posed on the front wheel tyre.
Basically the smelly version of the electric bicycle now.It was a big success but not forever,in 1974 Motobecane took the Solex production over,Motobecane became MBK and was later taken over by Yamaha which halted production in 1988.There were not very successful later productions in Hungary or Slovakia.See the picture of a Motobecane Solex S3800.

It looks like it crashed into a leaf blower. For $50 I'd buy it.
