60s I guess. Note the transparent paint over an all-chrome frame.

That is like "El Cool"! What kind of cranks are those?

Well, made by Carlton, England, branded for Huffy for sale in US.

Ha, ha. Don't know "English", chrome, cottered? Back in those days, they put as much care into the finish on the lower level bikes as the upper. I imagine in its day this was on par with the Raleigh Super Course (though no Reynolds I don't believe).

Someone needs to direct this member to our thread here.

THIS is what a Huffy should dream of being.

Oh, just looked, cranks are WILLIAMS. Sorry, know next to nothing about cottered crank brands.

Interesting, but mine is older than that catalog picture judging by the round hole Normandy highflange. Not sure exactly when they changed to slots.

Here's another website with Carlton/Huffy pics and info. My Carlton/Phillips is also pictured there.

Ok, my early 60s Carlton Flyer in a 20 year old Polaroid!

I just found this forum and your post. Was looking for more images of the Huffy/Carlton Catalina. Yes, this is late 60s. We had two Huffy/Carlton Catalinas in our garage for years. I still have one fairly unmolested one in storage. The paint is very fragile as is was their "AcryliChrome" (sp) finish which consisted of acrylic paint over chrome ... and of course the paint didn't stick to the chrome very well. I believe this was a one year project between Huffy and Carlton, but it might have gone on for two years. They should all be the same.
