Changing rear tire on 3 speed

Hello everyone,
I have aquired a Columbia Sports 3 with a SA AW hub. Needs tubes and tires.I have never removed the rear wheel on one of these. What do I do with the shifting cable? I see where it will unscrew, but how do I keep the gears adjusted properly while I have the wheel off? I have no experience adjusting this type of gear. I realize this is known by most of you, but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

Bob,
Not too hard, just unscrew the cable and leave the indicator chain in the hub. Take care of the tube and tire then follow Sheldon Brown's directions to readjust the gears. BTW we need to see pictures!:D

As long as you don't turn the jam nut much. Just turn it enough to crack the two pieces loose of each other so you can unscrew the cable end.Leave the indicator chain in the hub.(You can unscrew the indicator chain from the hub to inspect it if you wanted to. Just screw it back in. It won't affect anything) When you put it back together, just screw the cable end all the way up to the jam nut and snug them together. You're gears should be bang on. No adjustment needed.
