Peugeot Headset help
 

I have a PX 10 that I (gasp) have set up as a fixed gear. I am looking at restoring it not for authenticity but for nice asthetics. Can you use any headset that says it's "French threaded". Would this headet work?
The headset on there now is fine, I'm just perusing parts.

Campy Headset

French steerer for sure? If your steerer has a flat side rather than a key slot it's french and that headset will work but check your stack height. I've also run into different forlk crown race diameters. Had a french campy C record headset with a 26.3 race (tight fit for 26.4?), but my Gitane has a 26.8 fork crown, which doesn't even appear on Sheldon's page.

Probably cheaper, and in my experience, Campy headsets don't wear as well as the Stronglights that were stock on a PX. I've got a couple of the edcos from this guy and they are very,very pretty. Like them visually more than Campys, and yes, I have them...

Just a point of order: I have come across steerers with the threading filed flat that were NOT French threaded. It's a rule-of-thumb, but there are exceptions. Also note that this French-threaded Campy HS has a tabbed washer, not one with a flat spot, so it's meant for a slotted French steerer. In my limited experience, later year French bikes began adopting the slot...and eventually they phased out the French threading too.
