Identify this Pinarello please
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I just bought this Pinarello dirt cheap from some guy of the internet and the guy who was selling it couldn't give me the info I was asking for. So I'm going to pick this one up next week, but I'm a bit curious. Any info you guys can give me before the pick-up is welcome. I only have this crappy picture that guy took but I hope this will be enough for some of you. Thanks! Eddie |
I don't know the model but it looks to be late 70's early 80's. Unicanitor saddle, the Columbus decal is not the foil one anymore (changed late 70's), still has long Campagnolo dropouts.
Get a good deal? vjp |
Well, if it's TOO good a deal, keep in mind that if the guy can't give you some basic info on the frame (I'm thinking size, major components, model, etc) it can be a hint that the bike might have been stolen. Just listen to your rational side, nobody wants to buy a stolen bike.
That said, I hope it checks out and you nab it. It looks great. |
Thanks for the tips. I don't know if this is a stolen bike, but it seems beaten enough not to be. I'm going to pick this one up next week and going with my guts then. If it's indeed a hot bike I wouldn't want it either. Next thing, a collegue of mine said that there was something wrong with the fork, that it could be bent. Anyway, when I buy the bike I'll post more pics in the catch of the day thread and see if it was indeed a catch!

The fork does appear to be bent. Check it carefully before you buy.
