I don't know that I wasted it. I quite liked them, and have every intention of leaving them on there and using them long term. This is not an "I hate clipless" thread, it's a "clipless wasn't quite the total epiphany I expected" thread. Should the weather look up a bit next week, I'll try them out on a fast 20k, and see how that feels. If I come to find the benefits really significant after proper trialling, I'll think about SPD for some other bikes, but again, if I'm going to put them on the tandem, for instance, then the outlay between two sets of pedals, and two sets of shoes is going to be significant. I'm generally a tight fisted bugger when it comes to bikes.
