John Deere bikes are for real.Don't really know who made them but they're cheaply made.Probably more desirable to John Deere collectors as a curiosity than to bike people.I've seen 10-speeds,3-speed lightweights, and "muscle bikes".They were sold through dealerships back in the early 70's.

I'll bet you could find a buyer on eBay, or here, if you wanted to sell one. I think they're pretty fun in those John Deere colors, if perhaps not the best quality. Sometimes the novelty factor makes a bike more desirable than it would otherwise be.

Do you have pics?

I had an Arctic Cat 10sp., great bike, good components. I guess John Deere could do the same though I'm not sure it would have made the italian circles. :)

The John Deers are interesting on a historical note - they were amongst the very first Taiwanese made bikes sold in the U.S. I have no idea who the manufacturer was though.

I just picked up a mixte John Deere bike in very good condition!

$5 at the Last Chance Mercantile! (otherwise known as the DUMP!)

Also got a RED mixte KHS Gran Sport as well. $5 for that one too! :D

Just what I DON'T need, more old bikes!!
