Ebay find of the day?

Hello everyone:

Just saw this on ebay

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=230114033610

It looks interesting to me.

Does anyone have any comments or thoughts on this bicycle?

Also anyone have an idea of its value?

Thanks

Jenia

I don't know the "Norman of England" brand, but Western Flyer was a brand sold in Western Auto stores... That bike probably would have originally had a chain guard, or at least most 3 speeds I have seen have them...

I think the asking price is a little high on it, but probably a better bike that you could get for that price on a new bike.

I just gave away a 1974 Lady's Raleigh Sport 3 speed that I paid $20 for that was in only slightly worse shape... and needing a saddle

If you're looking at investing, it is too much, if you like it and want to ride it, then only you can say what it is worth to you. It is interesting, and f you like it, it could be worth the cost.

My father rides a '52 Norman three-speed that he's owned since college. It's not as nicely finished as the Raleigh Sports of the day, plain lugs, cheaper saddle, very thin paint. It does have some nice touches like a Norman logo chainring and cream-colored fenders. Has a cool headtube badge. And it rides just fine.

This Norman appears to be later, probably from the Raleigh era. It's not particularly valuable, but not a lot of Normans came to U.S. shores. You can get a cherry Sports for less than the current asking price.
