Is it Colnago?
 

Hi,

I have had this bike for about 15 years now and have always questioned the authticity, basically came from a friends dead uncle. It doesnt have any of the usual clover cutouts or stamps and the only engraving is on the bottom of the BB and says 24C316

Anyhow im at the point now where the paint is pretty shagged and a few of the components need replacing and finally need to know if this is real and worth restoring or fake.

I recently found the BB measurement to be 70mm and italian threaded if that helps.

Looks like a VERY poor 'imitation' ... and a Colnago with fender & rack eyelets would certainly be a first!
BTW, Colnago must be the most copied brand of them all, I see them all the time!

When it was difficult to obtain correct decals for your newly painted bike it was always possible to buy a repro. Colnago decal set. The decals on your frame look exactly like 2 repro. Colnago decal sets I still have. Joe V is right, unfortunately it is not a Colnago frame.

As I said I have always questioned it.

Regardless it seems to be quite a good frame. With the exception of a few scratches in the frame it has held up well of many 1000's miles

May deserve a fresh layer of paint from that perspective

Just makes me wonder what it really is then
