Hey All, is the blue one a nice bike? I want to go take a look but I'm still learing this and thought you guys could help me out with what model this is?

If those were in PA, Tolfan would have them by now. :)

For $100 for the pair, I would definitely look at them, Without having a closer shot, I have no clue on the value, but the one has alloy rims, and they both have DT shifters, so I would take a chance to look at them more closely. In fact, regardless of what model, I think they're probably worth $100 for the pair if they are in good shape.

And I'd put the alloy rims on whichever one you ride most.

I'm going to go out on Sat and look at them, any suggestions on what I should look for? Serial Numbers? Stickers? Forged Drops? How would I know years of correct parts? Sorry for all the questions, Newbie, what do you expect.

If it were me I would send an email saying I'll take them but I've been looking for a peugeot. The crome forks are a good sign. Whem you look at them see the seat tube , if theres a sticker saying what there made of reynolds is better then carbolite. Simplex derailers sounds original and so does the rest. If thay have never been serviced you may need to repack the bearings in the head tube and crank. Easy if you know how and have the tools. For the head tube you just need a big wrench for the bottum bracket you need some special bike tools. My local shop here charges $5 to take a crank off. $100 dosent sound bad but with the best offer try $80.

If those were in Ohio, I'd be after them allready. You can't go wrong for $100.

If you can ride them they're worth $100. Probably even if you can't. Just make sure there aren't any frozen or really grindy bearings.

Tolfan, I went and looked at those two pugs today. They weren't PX10as I can tell from reading on the web. I didn't buy them because they had no markings that showed any steel or any frame model. they had no serial numbers on the BB. They had no stickers that showed anything that would give a clue. the drops were stamped as I could tell. One had large flange Normandy hub wheels that were steel. they both had mafac brakes and stronglight cranks, but I have no idea what model they were, they are 170 in length. they had simplex der. wish I could tell more.

are the stems much shorter on vintage bikes? The toptube should have fit me but the bike felt very small, even though it measured close to me current bike.

Oh, the lugs were painted gold on the edges and no braze on cables/

It's understandable that the OP didn't buy them if they didn't fit, but that still seems like a great deal if they are as they appear in the photos. If it were near me I'd snap both of them up.

Whatever they are, man I would have snapped them up in a second. And the Stronglight cranks are a major upgrade. I do understand the fit thing though.
