Tiny Centurion Le Mans 650c

Just picked this up with the intention of putting the components on a Trek 560 frame. Didn't realize it was so small until I saw it in person, and they claimed it had 27" wheels. Shimano Exage components 650c wheels (26 x 1, 571) Shimano 105 hubs laced to Araya rims Tange tubes 28" standover height 46cm seat tube c-c I think those are 165mm cranks. Shimano Exage pedals 6 speed freewheel Saw some listings of Centurion Le Mans but didn't see anything with 650c wheels. |
That's interesting, I think it well predates the Triathalon trick of fitting 650C wheels to Tri bikes for faster acceleration and aero blah-blah, cause this is a Japanese '80s product and the wheels fit the frame/fork and brakes. And no Tri-geek handlebars, perhaps it's just intended for shorties, juniors and females without resorting to the Terry small front wheel. I'd flip it (complete) to a petite female, it's bound to be the answer to somebody's prayer.

I have a Dave Scott Centurian with a 700 rear and 24" front. For a much shorter rider, not for aero purposes. jim

Wow! Cool...darn, if you weren't in Michigan I'd be over at your house buying that from you.
It's meant for people like me. The Ironman I have solved that problem by using a 24" wheel in front, regular 700c in the rear. East Hill |

If it wasn't for the fact that I've already got those 12 other bikes...in all seriousness, the LeMans mixte I have is one of my favourite rides.
I would suspect that someone small, and closer to Michigan, would be more than happy to take it off your hands :) . East Hill |
