It's spring!
...And I'm so gosh darn happy! Even when the hail is pouring down, I feel all warm inside cos I know the warm season is approaching fast(ly). There are several reasons as to why I love the spring. One of the biggest is bicycling. Surprised? Another one would, according to scientist in me, be the lack of sunlight during the winter on these latitudes. In the last months of winter, I sometimes spend half an hour at a time just looking at my stable of old bikes. I take the time to really appreciate the work behind the bicycle, and the details. And I must say they all exude serious awesomeness. I want, nay I need, to ride them!
I'd bet my humble stable is nothing to write home about for the seasoned collectors among you, but I feel really fortunate to have been able to acquire my bikes, and to save them from turning sour in someone's basement. Thanks. |
I love that feeling when the air is still cool but the breeze is warn. Makes my old bones feel like a pup again.

Haha, yeah. Note to self: don't post on fora late friday night.
Anyway, I went out for the premier ride yesterday. It was a double premier; the first ride of the season as well as the first ride on my new bike. The bike performed beautifully, while I had to get rid of the slime that had accumulated in my head during the winter, before I could perform adequately. It's a great feeling to finally be able to ride your dream bike. Snow is still plentiful here, but most of the asphalt roads are clear. |
