That looks like the Long Shen 302 series. Check out the lug in the third row down all the way to the right.

a PINK bike with hearts on the lugs! <3

moki 04-26-07 08:05 PM

ollo - are those all yours? if so, daaaayum (double damn for the 'traut)

is it just me, or is lug outlining a bad idea 98% of the time?

if it's done right it looks great. The lining on my RIH is 33 years old, never retouched
and has flaked quite a bit. I can see that it was much better executed than it appears.

but yah, bad lug lining looks horrible.

Thanks Campyguy,

You're te first person to be able to identify these lugs. thanks. :)

I'm a little disapointend that they are taiwanese, but the bike still looks cool and rides a dream.

Yeah...for a while I was planning to build my own frame, so I found all these great websites. I still plan on building a frame...someday.

Great thread, everyone! Folks who ride today's TIG-welded frames are missing out on one of the best visual pleasures of vintage cycling.

Why oh why do we have nothing but welds these days? Has all the artisans of the world left? (No offense to skilled welders)

Mine, but the De Rosa pic is not of mine & I don't have that Eisentraut anymore. Way to small at 45 cm & I traded it off when my grandaughter outgrew it. Sometimes lug lining really enhances things but all to often it seems to turn out badly.

Long Shen lugs seem to be good enough for Richard Sachs.

Just a couple of other performance enhanced lugs I've worked with. :p

Lamplight 04-30-07 12:09 PM

So many...beautiful lugs! I feel like Daisy looking at Jay Gatsby's shirts in The Great Gatsby, weeping at the sheer beauty of them. :p
