Pics of my completed Gitane project

I finished my Gitane today. Thought I’d share the finished pics with everybody. I bought tires, and bar tape, and I couldn’t resist more yellow. Its go gaudy and so beautiful at the same time!!! Cheers!

***a sharp eye may notice the out of place dia-compe brake lever hoods----sadly I couldnt find any Weinmann hoods and the dia-compes fit almost perfectly.....

Holy Kripes thats so lovely and fast looking! Haha, I just love yellow on bicycles, and it works so well with the blue on yours, awesome job!

some minor nit pick: I'd just loose the black post though as its out of place with everything else. and maybe some blue finishing tape on the bars instead of the black stuff, you can get some blue electrical tape!

Yes, that is the original Atax plastic seat post. I am planning on ditching it asap once I find a suitable replacement. Ive heard they are prone to breakage!! I'm guessing that having your post snap while riding is no good............

It's a head turner, you should be proud.

Beautiful bike, tastefully done.

WOW....you done a bang up job on that bike. Looks great, I even like the colors. :D

The yellow accents really make the bike. Did the frame come in that condition or did you paint it?

The frame is original paint. I bought the bike from the original owner and he said the bike was in storage for over the last 10 years. The worst thing about the bike was the grease in the hubs, bb, and headset. I believe it was the original grease --- it had the consistency of rubber cement.
