7 speed sachs maillard freewheel (narrow or standard?)
hey guys,
i found an old sachs freewheel on ebay, the seller doesn't know much about it, nor do i, but i think it might be what i'm looking for, ie: 7 speed ultra/narrow to fit on an old campy 126.5mm english thread hub.
see: https://cgi.ebay.com/FREEWHEEL-SACHS-...QQcmdZViewItem
i asked the seller if it was an ultra/narrow 7 speed, and he didn't know, but he did say this, "the 13-26 is 5mm center to center or cog tip to cog tip."
from what i understand, 7 speed narrows have 5mm spacings. is this the case? i don't want to buy a freewheel that doesn't fit. thanks for your help! (i'm looking at the 7 speed 13-26, not the 12-21)

I just measured a NOS 12-21 Sachs 7 speed freewheel I have and the the cog spacing I see is closer to 4mm, center to center on the cog teeth. The overall width of the entire freewheel is 35mm. I also have an identical one mounted on a Campagnolo Athena hub and it fits cleanly in the 126 spaced rear dropouts of my frame. By the way, it indexes perfectly with my early Athena rear derailleur and 8 speed shifters.
Hope that helps.

Ultra freewheels (narrow) were 5mm c-c cog spacing, so it's what you need. 8 speed is 4.8mm spacing. Standard 5 and 6 speeds were usually 5.3mm
8 speed freewheels are for 130mm spacing
