Fuji Espree

I picked up a Fuji Espree at a yard sale today, pretty clean and fits me well. I think it is a early/mid 80s bike Serial # under BB is FL404327.
Has Suntour ARX front & rear derailleurs, Nitto stem and bars, Sugino GP crank, Dia-Compe side pulls and friction down tube shifters, valite frame. I assume an entry/mid level reasonable quality bike. Anyone able to determine year and/or have any comments?

Thanks,
Keith

It sounds identical to a Fuji Espree I picked up recently. Fuji's are pretty hard to date, but the components on mine are just like a Schwinn Traveler I had that I could date to 1984. Its not a top of the line bike, but it's definitely a good quality mid level ride and I'm enjoying the heck out of mine. Is it "Made in Japan"? Can you post pics?

Sounds like a bike I passed up at the thrift store, and then it was sold before I changed my mind and went back for it...

It seems like it would be a good rider!

That is some coincidence. I just bought 2, 1984 Fuji Espree's. A large (58cm seat tube) and a small (50 cm seat tube) that were a his & hers pair, purchased at the same time. Sorry no pictures yet. These are really nice bikes, certainly not entry level. More like mid, maybe even upper mid level. Nice quad butted, Valite frames on these Espree's. Do you have a picture of yours KLW2?

Thanks, wait 'til I take pics. I just cleaned up the dust on the small framed bike. The previous owner said it was his wife's and she never rode it. I believe him.
