Seat stay ID help needed.
 

I've owned a lightweight road bike for years without knowing what it is, and hoping someone might be able to help me ID it. It has chromed drop outs and nervex style lugs and probably built for 27" wheels, but the most interesting part of the bike are the chamfered seat stays. I've only seen these once before, in a book called "The Custom Bicycle", where they were not identified but pictured. Thanks ahead of time for any help.

I can't tell from the picture, is this your bike? Those aren't nervex lugs...but that is beautifully made. Can you post some more pics of the bottom bracket, head tube & lugs, etc?

Gios used seatstay caps like that but they actually said GIOS on them and if you had a GIOS you would know it.. so that can't be it.. I've got nothin'. Every so often an unidentifiable bike comes up... Someone who made only a dozen frames or so in their garage and never really went for it as a career type thing... it's happening again with all the popularity of lugged steel. I know a couple guys in my city doing it, in their 20s.. they've got a jig and started brazing some frames... no serial numbers no nothing... Often they put a lot of work into it and they are really nice looking bikes but in 30 years who will know who made it or where it came from?

Hmmm, your seatcluster is different form the B&W pic, similar "scoop" to the caps, but yours reminds me of a variation of the popular "Emilio Bozzi" style used on many Italian bikes for decades...yet different, too. Given that the lugs are "Nervex-looking" and the bike came with 27" wheels, I'd guess it's NOT got an Italian threaded BB, true? And if that guess is correct, here's another: Japanese.
Strictly a reckless guess, tho...what's the seatpost size?

I was cleaning (never ending) the garage today and noticed a Gios compact pro frame that I have hanging in the back...it has these style end caps without the GIOS logo anywhere...
