Simonelli
Hi all
I am chasing information regarding a bike I have recently purchased. It appears to be a mid-80s Italian traditional 53cm lugged frame made of Columbus Aelle tubing and equiped with non-aero Shimano 600 group set with Mavic tubular rims. It has Campagnolo dropouts 3ttt bars, stem & seat pillar and overall is a nice little bike that rides well. I would like to gain some info as to when it may have been made, has anyone else got one, etc.. It is called a "Simonelli" and has what appears to be shopp decals on the rims & frame saying Peter Stalla. Your help is appreciated. John Australia :) |
I have a frame with the same name on it. It was given to me by a friend
who was trying to clear out her basement (condo, people leave things). It had been painted over and components changed. Right now it is in storage with a bent rear hanger (free to anyone reading this if you are in the Boston area 57cm) that makes it unusable. |
Sure it's not Simoncelli?
If so, it's a second (maybe third) tier manufacturer and a low end of the line with Aelle. Probably not much collector or sentimental value but someone will surely buy it for a fair price. |
Checked out the decals again and it is definitely SIMONELLI.

Simonelli frames
I too have a couple Simonelli frames that I have been searching for information about for a long time.
The best I have found is that Simonelli Nuevo has been making espresso machines for almost a century. Mine are monocoque racing bike frames that are in excellent condition, but I don't know whether it is worthwhile to put any money into them. They have Shimano decals on them also and sport the world champion rainbow colors. I'm thinking that they date back to the Era before teams were required to use off the shelf bikes. Any information would be appreciated. Steven Florida |
