Anybody going to the Mill Valley Bicycle Swap in CA?
I just found out about it on craigslist. The person seems pretty serious about doing the event. He is going to be at the place at 5:30AM. I am thinking about getting there around 6 o'clock to scope the parts...With any luck I will find a vintage bike frame it is my size and not overly expensive. It is free for a 5x5 space larger spaces have a fee. It seems like it should be a fun event.

Every year I plan to go, and every year something comes up. Turns out, I've already signed up and paid for an organized ride that takes place on the 30th, so I'm going to miss it again.

The real reason is he wanted to ride and embarass me on Saturday. C'mon admit it!

I've been able to figure out that it's going to be held on Saturday the 30th, now can you reveal the exact location or do I have to go search Craig's List?

But I did figure if I showed up in downtown Mill Valley at 6 a.m. for coffee, I'd likely find someone who would know the place.

Dr. Deltron
If I knew for sure that were going to be there I'd be seriously considering stripping down my PX10 and letting you take it home with you.

I just checked the calendar and it's clear that day. But I'll have to double-check with the Mrs. to make sure. I'll PM you the results and we'll arrange a rendevous if I get "greenlighted".

and I'm going to a bicycle swap meet. GreeAAat! There goes the deposit!!!

Picked up a box of goodies in trade for a schwinn suburban. Mostly Mountain bike. I'll be there. Also, looking for a newer 60cm frame to replace my damaged Fuji Team.

I hope somebody will post some pictures. Dr. Deltron stopped by my house after he left the swap to pick up my PX10 and he said it was great. I thought it was best if I stayed away. I've spent way too much on bikes lately.

Hey D, It was a pretty good turnout. I sold 80% of my stuff and picked up a carbon 2001 USPS Trek frame for $350 (all my earning). Trips for Kids next weekend at the Race way. If you go, let me know how it went.

You post pics of your build & I'll post pics of my build.
All I got was a "frame" as well. I'm starting a thread.

bump.. old thread, but I was wondering if anyone was going this weekend.
How's the turnout? I'm planning on doing a crazy public transit trip up there from SF, so I'm wondering if it's worth it.
And if anyone in SF is offering a ride, I'd be more than happy to pay for some gas and toll!

And back! Did anyone score anything good?
I was contemplating the Shogun that was going for $180.. just as non-buyer's remorse, does anyone recall the model, or the tubing? I totally forgot to check it out.

Lot's of interesting bikes and stuff but I forgot my camera in my rush to get out the door...
I picked up a few things; an Aheadset threadless 1 1/8 headset and a pack of carbon spacers for it, a Shimano SC 105 bottom bracket, some period correct Schwinn toeclips for the Chrome Varsity rebuild that will happen someday and some front and rear Blackburn touring racks for BlankCrows. The best find was a Cinelli stem with some Nitto mustache bars for a very fair price. I saw the same Cinelli stem for $45 at another booth later on and I paid a Hamilton less for both.

Cheers TIOS. I rode the Shogun and the ride felt very good. Was going to pick it up, but I'm just starting out, and already have a beater project.

That Shogun was a 600, 58cm, with Arabesque parts. It sold as a package deal with the KHS for $200. I see Joe E. sold his Cinnelli for $650. It was a nice day, great turnout and sold everything I had.

Wish I would have known they belonged to a fellow BF member. I would have said hello instead of just pondering what you had available and wondering if I needed it. At least I didn't try bartering you down on anything...
Time for the Northern California / San Francisco Bay Area to have a vintage ride event so we can show off our C&V treasures and put some names with faces.

The Shogun was not mine, but a fellow flipper from my area. I brought the KHS as filler for our spot. The Scot Nicol Novara XR was mine. Nice Ibis designed bike. Joe E's Cinelli:
