My dog's jealous
I've now had my $25 80's World Sport exactly 5 days. I've ridden all 5 days and added some decent hills tonight in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (yes, a national park in NE Ohio). I volunteer for every store errand and have mastered the balancing act of carrying a gallon of milk without crashing or clobbering someone. I look at the stupid thing everytime I pass it. My dog's starting to get jealous - she thinks I'm taking it for a walk. And now I'm seriously considering getting another classic - maybe an old Raleigh because the head badge looks so cool. Is this behavior normal? How long will this obsession last? Should I seek professional help? Or should I just admit I have a problem, enjoy it ,and snag the next old Raleigh I see?

Every night I turn off my lights, head towards my bedroom, and then go back and turn the lights on for one last look at my bikes.
Snag the next good old Raleigh you see.

And my dog hates the UPS man. This was taken just after my last purchase arrived:

One of the advantages of being cat people; the damn things don't care what you do outside as long as you feed them when you get back

I agree with Blue Order, snag the next good Raleigh you see. And for that matter, Schwinn, Nishiki, Univega, Trek, Miyata,...

Hee. I am somewhat relieved to learn I am not alone in my new obsession either
(I bought a new Norco Pinnacle last spring and started commuting to work - decent enough starter bike but it's heavy. I pined for the 3 speed Raleighs of my youth and when a co-worker and his wife bought new bikes, I offered to purchase their old Raleighs. One of those immediately became my day to day commuter bike Then I discovered distance riding. Then I found an old touring/randonneur frame at a rummage sale last week. The bikes are multiplying.... but I've decided to sell the Norco!)
