New part of the family
So I've "adopted" my dad's bike, which until now had been sitting in my mom's garage. It's an early 70s Motobécane Grand Touring.
http://robballou.com/projects/moto/IMG_7334.jpg I've started working on getting this bike in working condition (I overhauled the front wheel, tossed the rotted tires and tubes, and bought a new chain which I haven't put on the bike yet), but I was wondering what the best way to figure out what year the bike really is. All I really know is that my dad guesses that he bought it before my sister was born which places it in or prior to 1973. Is there a resource to find this information online via the serial number or some such thing? More pictures can be found here: http://robballou.com/projects/moto/ Thanks for your help! Rob |
That headbadge logo looks kinda old. If you believe the components are original this page may help to identify the date.

Thanks for the link! At first glance, most of the components don't have any stampings on it, but I may uncover some when I overhaul some of these parts. But we'll see I suppose.
