Univega Gran Premio

I'm reasonably new to vintage bikes and am looking for quality and affordability. I've been browsing these forums and it looks like you guys are the people to ask.

I'd like to take a look at this, any advice?

I guess, what I'm asking is this: Is this worth it? I don't mind putting a little work into, maybe even a lot of work, but after having some trouble with an older peugeot, i'm wondering if I buy this and have to replace something will it be difficult to replace? I love the peugeot but i was on foot for a few days trying to find parts that fit well.

Thanks in advance.

Not the best pics. Looks like a tall bike.

The 80s Univegas were quite nice. If it's close by it's definitely worth a look. If it's clean the asking price is more than fair.

Good luck and let us know if you get it.

When it comes to fixing up classics dont go by the peugeot. I have redone Fuji Miyata Schwinn bridgestone freespirit Nishiki Spectum on and on. I looked for a year for the right size peugeot for my self. I had all the parts, new all the traps and pit falls, had it all planed out ,and still the peugeot double crossed me and was a pain in the ask.
It reads original in good condition and thats what it looks like in the photos. Go test ride it if you like it buy it. It looks like a nice bike at a fair price.

I just brought it home. It looks like all it needs is a little tightening of the deraileurs and a good cleaning and it's good to go.

Thanks for the advice, I'll post (better) pics later.

Oh, just out of curiosity, is anyone able to date it for me if I post a serial number or something? Thanks.
