it is. The drivetrain is mostly from a flip i did of a Lemond about a year ago. i was going to do more of a vintage build but this is what i had available, and it rides really nice. Plus the frame is from 1999, so not that vintage anyway. It's basically a parts bin build. I'm happy with how it came out. I hope to get some miles on it over the next few days.

Your build is really "classic" looking; In addition to being one of the last Jack Taylors- the whole of the bike is just really nice looking.
I was considering making a "modern" build, and the most "classic" looking "new" stuff is that 6600 Ultegra group. Right now I'm quite satisfied with the way my bikes are built, but that could change at a moment's notice- and if I go "new" it'll probably be something in the neighborhood of what you've got on there.

yeah, i have a few other bits from that group on other bikes, including my raleigh pro which i used to ride Mount Washington in California and it all works really well. I'm a fan.

Thanks!
imagination. No really, its a dyno light with no wiring or power source
. I got it with my JT Tandem and its been sitting in a box for two years. I threw it on since the rack had the bracket for it. I need to get a dyno wheel and then I would like to convert that light to an LED to keep with the vintage feel but modern function.

thanks man. In the near future i'll likely add a set of white bluemels I have, a dynohub, and I think i'm going to change the bars out from those noodles to a nitto b132 rando bar. As you can see the frame is on the smaller side of what I ride and I could use the extra height without having a bunch more stem showing.

Your Jack Taylor is looking just right to my eyes.
Next time that thread pops up again about " brown on black" we can use your JT as the "how to make it look great" example.
Hope you have some fantastic long rides with it.

No pics but wanted to mention I keep seeing a young guy riding a Fuji Touring Series III around town. He said his dad likes old bikes.

Set up like this, my Fuji S-12-S probably would have been considered a "touring" bike when new back in '81. A Peugeot U-08 with a Pletscher rack and panniers could pass as a "touring" bike back then! That was before things really changed in the
mid-1980s. This bike serves me well. No complaints!

Thanks! Black is also easy to touch up. My first 'nice' bike as a kid was an S-10-S "Special Road Racer" in white.

I probably will get all that going when I see how the front fender goes in, I may have some silver racks and other upgrades in the works for this bike, I built it with available parts, so changes will come soon.

77'(I think) Motobecane Gran Touring. I have changed the saddle and angle lol. I stripped it down and rattlecanned it. The parts aren't original, I bought it off craigslist.
Working on it:
Finished:
I wanted to upload the original pic to show what color it was but it wants to load upside down lol. It was champagne.
If anyone knows how to get rid of that thumbnail lemme know. Thanks.

It's actually a pretty cool build - he's got very nice 38c tires on there. Frankenstein parts mix, but a decent one. The hubs are unknown to me - labeled somos.
