Also... not a tourer, but I'm told a sports tourer (??) Trek 400.

Those are both fine looking bikes. Those are both sweet pick ups, .

Oh I wish . Thank you though. I was 21, she was 18. My wife defies age very well. I am so lucky. We have three beautiful children, 24 , 22 and 13 years old.

How are you liking the Nitto Noodle bars? I bought a set but not sure if I'm going with those or a set of the 135 Nitto Rando bars?

I like them, very comfortable. The bends feel natural in your hands.

Which bars do you find the most comfortable and enjoyable on your rides?… The Nitto Noddle or the Randonneur bars? I bought one of each to see what I preferred but I'm still not sure,… (42cm Noodles and 45cm Rando bars is what I went with)

THanks

This is a pretty cool setup. I have mine built up similarly, though not vintage but with some vintage components.

I got a set of Noodles and a set of B132 Rando bars.

I personally like the feel of the B132s, the bends, the ramps and the splay at the brake levers. I like the width of the Noodles- the Noodles are wider because they don't splay out as much and the width is measured at the ends.

Just for fun, here's the 44cm Noodle.

At this point I'm not exactly sure I have a preference. I didn't spend nearly enough time on the bikes this past season once the bars were installed. My favorite seemed to be the one I was riding at the time.

Yes. I know that feeling.

After a few "incidents" I've decided I'm not a winter rider. Right now, my Trek 720 is the first thing I see when I go down to the basement... Spring just can't come soon enough.

BTW- I get all excited when I see this thread get bumped up!

1985 Trek 620, original plus VO fenders:

Perfect except it's a touch small. Previous owner added new decals, I added the fenders.

1984 Trek 520, also original except borrowed 700c wheels:

No problems with winter riding in sunny California - lamentably even more so with this drought.

So far, the original 27s, I'm taking my time figuring out a wheel upgrade. Fenders are VO smooth 37mm. Trying to be mindful of the toe overlap on sharp turns...

Thanks Old'scool ! yes it is a French model , with 650 wheels, ten speeds and HURET "driver" derailleur , it has the "hutchinson" handlbare , an excelent bicycle for "cyclo tourisme" (as CT) built with tubes 2040 ,even though it is a little heavy, but very strong ...curiously, they are very few in France !

This was my winter project -- blog post

I just finished making the handlebar rack and bag. Here's a blog post on that.

Edit: This 1972 Schwinn P15-9 was sold as a tour bike I believe. It's posted elsewhere on this site, in a Paramount-specific thread.

Wow, nice work on both the bike and the bag. I just read both posts. I always struggle a bit with losing patience because I just want to get out and ride so I'm always appreciative of folks like you who clearly have a good capacity for attention to detail.
