Here's a refurb project that I'm just about done with: a 1986 Miyata 610 tourer. The original finish was fairly trashed, so I had it powdercoated in go-fast red, swapped in Nitto alloy arc bars, Specialized riser stem, SunTour thumb shifters, and red Tektro BMX brake levers. The bike didn't come with the original wheelset, and what was on was pretty marginal, so I swapped in these decent 700c touring rims w/ 7-speed rear hub. It's sporting crazy expensive 30mm Gran Bois tires at the moment, but that was mainly because my 35mm Panaracer Paselas were too wide. Original parts are the DiaCompe brakes, the BioPace triple crankset, SR platform pedals (which are fairly trashed), rear rack. I've swapped in an old Avocet Touring saddle, a replacement headbadge decal from JRrestore, and Planet Bike Cascadia fenders.

You could tour on a bar like that but I doubt you would.

This is my '85 Centurian 'Elite RS' Sport/Touring bike I managed to snag for free. Its my around town bike I pull a trailer with commuting to work. 'Tange #2' cro-moly frame with 'Shimano 600' drivetrain, Sugino ALP 53X42 crank, 13-28 7-speed freewheel (to replace the 6) and Dia-comp 'Gran-comp' brakes. This is going to be my fast cruiser bike (and light tourer) once I get some decent racks for it.
Rides real sweet.

Flipping the wheel is pretty easy and climbing is climbing... the harshest climb I have ever done on this bike was a short hill here that has a 17- 22% grade. Longer and more moderate grades aren't really an issue.

Not originally a tourer, more-so used as a commuter, and really only the frame in "vintage', but what the heck, I love it.

1990 Schwinn World Sport... not exactly vintage - yet

Picked up a Miyata 610 this weekend. Nice and it fits me. Was planning to buy a new Long Haul Trucker, but am now thinking maybe I just keep this bike.... Best part is it is in great condition and it only cost $20.

Picked this up in NOS condition a few days ago. Its going to be built up with mostly 9sp 105 as my light tourer/commuter. I love the way this frame rides!
