C-list?
Im having a problem on Criags list, I cant use the cantact the buyer thingy? I have Windows Vista Ultimate and it keeps telling me that I cant use that feature? Needless to say Ive missed out more than once on some decent bike buys as most do not list email addresses or phone numbrs :( anyone computer savvy round here?

You probably need to turn off some "protection" that Vista offers (Vista sucks). Is it giving you a one-time option line just under your toolbar to "allow"? I get those sometimes, even trying to attach images here. (real dangerous)

Mine just wants to endlessly send me around trying to re-do my hotmail if I remember the nonsense correctly. It means that if I truly want something I have to wait until I get to work to send a message.
Perhaps someone knows why my won't work? I don't think I remember a one-time allow option. East Hill |
The message reads," Windows no longer supports the HTTP server for yadda yadda yadda" I have no other problems with Vista but this one? no "one time option" or "trying to re-do my hotmail"? Im actually having a great time using it, I attach photos, send them to friends, without a hitch, I love the way it found my digi camara and my HD DVD player, they were "hooked up" in a matter of minutes without having to use the cds that came with them! all I had to do was plug them in via usb and the comp did the rest! :D

Right click on the e-mail address, select 'copy e-mail address' and then paste it into your e-mail program. Just guessing, no Vista for me.

Call Microsoft if you have a licensed copy. Let them figure it out. I had a similar problem with XP a while back and had more than several conversations with Microsoft and MSN tech support before they finally got it sorted out. Smooth sailing since.

No email address to click on :(
|
All the listings I see have a 'reply to: sale-xxxxxx@craigslist.org' at the top of the listing.

What options do you get when you right click? What happens if you double click it?
|
nada on the double click and "open" "add this link to my yahoo bookmark" "email this link to a friend" "copy shortcut" "add to favorites" "properties" I also forgot to mention that Im a computer ******!
|
Actually, mine wants to start an MSN Installation Wizard every time I click on the 'reply to sale'. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only person who can't get the things to work :) .

One suggestion - it won't necessarily fix things (my experience is with NT/98SE/ME/XP), but it is good to have on hand: Mozilla Thunderbird. You can have all your Yahoo or Hotmail email forwarded into Thunderbird if you wish.

Take care, -Kurt |
I just highlight copy and past the reply to address thing and I just use my web browser for email, no email clients for me. I am using vista and have never had a problem contacting people on craigslist. I use firefox but I doubt that matters. You should be using firefox anyway, it's superior.

It sounds like you have Outlook Express but have never set it up to your hotmail account. When that window pops up, copy the email address and paste it into your hotmail composer or whatever other email program you use. What program do you normally use to send email?
