Worksman and Schwinn, compatible?

Hi,

Does anyone know if parts from a vintage schwinn (headset, crank set, gooseneck) will fit a new Worksman cruiser (a.k.a. paperboy)?

thanks,

I don't think so. Schwinn had different thread per inch on most of their hard parts. Some may some may not but the parts on a Worksman are generally very good so I don't see a reason to change. Roger

The bottom bracket cone bearings on the worksman are generally 5/16" diameter and I think the Schwinns were 1/4 or at least the last one I took apart were. I would assume that the rest of the bike is the same way. Worksman stuff is pretty easy to get and I think you can order direct from them. I ride one everyday at work and they are built tough.
