Trek 710: City Bike
Since I added the Schwinn Paramount to my collection () as my nice weather commuter and I have the Schwinn World Voyageur w/ Nexus 8 hub for the winter weather, I decided to use the Trek 710 that Dr.D repainted as my around town/kid pulling bike etc. I added a set of Nitto Albatross bars, Rivendell silver shifters, Brooks Champion Special saddle, a couple of Wald folding baskets and Jannd rack trunk from a "catch of the day" for carrying stuff. I like the result. The bike is very fun to ride and also practical. Nice thing is none of the changes are permanent, so I can change it into something else if need be in the future.
The only downside is that my 65lb son can "ghost shift" my bike if he stands up to help me climb hills!

To tell you the truth, I like the Trek better with this configuration. Very nice build! I think it also gives Dr. D's artwork more breathing room, and a more prominent display.
But you're crazy to make the Paramount your daily commute. This man has courage, I tell you!
