Figuring out what size threading I have. . .
 

How do I measure to find out what size is my headset threading, bottom bracket, etc. I have some tape to measure with I just don't completely know where to measure. I don't want to buy parts like handlebars and stems and have them not fit my aged bike.

What kind of bike do you have? The threading standards tend to be particular to country of origin (e.g., Japan, US, Italy, France).

It's an old 1960 english hawthorne hercules camel back frame which is pretty not normal.

I posted it about a week ago under a different user name (doinel) but recently my old pc died I got a mac and switched email providers and didn't feel like trying to figure out my old password (I had been cookied so I never had to log in) through my old email so I created a new one.

If necessary I can post another picture. I think it might need new brakes and cables and the gear cable is slightly frayed but works. The chain guard is slightly dinged and I think I might order a chaincase if I can find one(probably not) and I'm going to fit a back rack on it. I'm also thinking about getting a higher handle bar stem and don't know if I will have to get new handlebars as well.

Problem is I'm unsure what size to order all these things. Mostly the handle bar stuff and the chaincase. I figure a 26" rack will fit 26x1 3/8 tires. Oh, and I'm probly going to order a brooks B66 and I don't suspect having any problem fitting that on.
