How does the ride of the 72 Paramount compare with your new 953 Waterford?

Not surprisingly, the rides are very similar, but the Waterford is six pounds lighter so it accelerates faster and climbs better. They're both very comfortable on long rides, but if I know I'm going to have hills I take the Waterford. I've grown to appreciate the precise indexed shifting of the Campy Ergo shifters on the Waterford; the Paramount has bar end friction shifters.

I bought a 1970 Paramount frame on eBay months ago and haven't done a thing with it except give it some company. It was that ugly gold(ish) one with the rear rack and Cinelli fork.

Off-topic but my Sunday ride was with two riders that rode a 80's Raleigh Competition and a Panasonic DX-300. Downtube and barcon sixspeeds. I rode my fixed gear Bianchi.
