Anyone know about/use Mavic Reflex wheels?

I picked up a Mavic Reflex clincher wheelset at the local sporting goods consignment store yesterday. I had never heard of Reflex, but they were laced to some shiny Dura-Ace hubs with Ultegra skewers so I figured they must be pretty high quality wheels and the price seemed more than reasonable. They didn't even need truing and I rode in to work on them this AM and all seemed well.

A search of the forums found some info about the wheels, but I was wondering 1. Can anybody give me an idea of how old these wheels are? and 2. Does anybody use these or have an opinion about them? Thanks!

Can't tell you how old they are. I have a set also labeled SUP laced to Campy SF. Nice wheels.

They came in both flavors.

A little info here at the bottom,

Bike forums thread here.

The latter indicates the clinchers were only built for three years.

Thanks to all so far. I don't have pics, but I can take some when I get home. CV-6, I saw that thread...but what 3 years? I can't seem to find that out anywhere.

I used to work as a bike mechanic when I was a student between 1996 and 1999. In this period the reflex chlinchers were sold. I used to lace alot of them to the then brand new Ultegra 9speed hubs. They were considered very light but still afordable being a lot cheaper than the Mavic Open Pro SUP hard anodized rims also sold at that time. You have to remember that aero high profile rims were the latest rage at that time with rims like the Mavic CXP 33 in the very high version (the actual version has a lot lower profile) and Campy Shamal wheels. I choosed a set of Reflex clincher rims myself in a very nice blue anodizing with blue aluminium spokenipples paired with Ultegra hubs for my own ride at that time and the wheelset served me well ever since. Nice and light. We were very disappointed in the shop when we discovered that Mavic had decided just to produce the tubular version and stopped the clinchers.
