Anyone know anything good/bad about this frame? Doing an SS freewheel conversion. I have no idea what yr it is. Any way to tell? It is a red 58cm.

You have to look for date codes on the components. Go to Vintage Treks to get the codes, then look at your components for those codes:

Component Dates

As you can see, figuring out what you've got can be nearly impossible without component date codes, so it's only fair to posterity to keep any components you remove.

There's a Fuji Gran Tourer SE on San Francisco Craigslist, the ad says it's a 1980:

My main bicycle is a red Fuji Gran Tourer SE single speed conversion and I really love it. Most of the stock parts have been replaced (although I don't know if the campagnolo wheels are stock parts or not, maybe you can verify).

My one complaint is the brakes which are the high clearance touring brakes that do not function very well.

I'm starting a Fuji serial number database to decode the serial numbers. Once you've looked at the components date codes, post them and the serial number.

I have the same bike (with the rest of the gears still there) and have replaced my levers (tektro r200), pads (Kool stops), and rims (aluminium) and have awesome braking. The center pull dia compe calipers could easily launch me over the handlebars when well adjusted.

Is that it?

I've had 3 fujis recently and found the year via that site. It's fabulous.
