Advice on this old Colnago
Is the price fair?
Colnago 54cm Colombus Steel 80's = $470 OBO Seller hasn't provided much detail but says it has all Campy parts but not Record. What do you think the frame is worth? http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...6conv/a328.jpg |
Looks like triomphe to me but hard to tell between that and victory without some more details. But I am pretty sure it's triomphe. I think if you get the complete bike for $400 you are doing well. Looks to be in good shape, everyone loves colnagos so you know you can always get most of your money back from the sale. I don't know colnago but it looks like a super too me and the type of Nago I would want. nothing to fancy just simple and elegant. I'd probably cave and pay the $470 if the chrome and paint are in really good shape.

+1 on the Triomphe/Victory designation - hard to tell without better pics. If the picture of the crank was better, I'd be able to tell straight away. The levers are obviously not Campy. They look almost identical to the Dia Compes I have on my tourer - they are good levers! Anyway, price seems fair, though not spectacular either...

If the rims are straight and true and the rubber is good and the frame is SL, I would say $400 is the very tops, for $600-$700 you could get one with complete Campy SR.
I'm cheap, though. |
