A little help...thanks
First let me apologize if I'm in the wrong area...
I'd like some help on a bike that I recently purchased. Although it will soon find a new home soon (too big), I'm more than interested in a little history if any on this find. I haven't seen many "lugged" frames especially stamped "Made in Italy". Here's what I know so far. The Bike is made by "Tommaso". It has good components (Shimano 105 / Campy / Ambrosia). I was told it was built in the early 90's. I know, not that old but seems like a nice ride. Don't know ? Model Name if any...Company History...Touring v. Road Bike ? http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/f...9/DSCN0125.jpg Thanks in advance for any info... |
Tommaso was a brand conceived by Tom Eason of 10 Speed Drive Imports, the Florida Based distributor of Guerciotti. The brand appeared about 1985 and the frames were built in Italy by various manufacturers, then sent to the US for painting, decal application and assembly. Based on the lugs, you have what you have appears to be an aluminum or carbon fiber model. In which case it is likely manufactured by Alan or possibly Vitus. A Shimano and Campy mix indicates either some parts are non-original or that it was originally purchased as a frame. definitely a road racing frame, as opposed to touring.

Uh, could you tell us anything important there, T-mar? ;)
Are you some sort of cycling encyclopedia or what? |
