Another Campy ID thread

This is on a Cinelli on ebay. Looks to be Gran Sport but it doesn't say Gran Sport. I think I have seen an RD like this with only Campagnolo on it but I don't recall where. Any ideas?

I think maybe late model Gran Sport. There was supposedly a late model Gran Sport marked only Campagnolo. It was produced circa 1963 to be sold alongside the newly introduced "Record" rear derailleur. Should have the larger (10mm vs. 8mm) spring cover.
But that is unsual for sure - good eye.

Good call, this is what I found on velo-retro.com

1963 - In October the Record rear derailleur (chrome plated bronze) is introduced. This has a revised cage shape with the pivot behind and closer to the jockey pulley and center punched rivets. The word "Record" is added to the hub barrels. Thicker heads on seat post adjusting bolts. Low cost "Campagnolo" model derailleur introduced (black oxide finish with the word "CAMPAGNOLO" on body), an economy version of the Gran Sport derailleur.
EXCEPT, is that a black oxide finish on the derailleur? I doesn't look like it to me but what do I know.

Good point. I don't know either. Maybe there was more than one version, or maybe the finish is worn off.
