Airlite hubs
Hi,
I have a pair of red Airlite track hubs (flip flop, fixed/fixed) that came with an old Aussie track bike. I've looked on google and searched here but I can't find too much info about them, except that they were good in their time and that the red ones are iconic. Anyone got any more info about them? (Even anecdotes.) I'm trying to decide whether to keep them and ride them or trade them to someone who might do a period build or something. If I trade them what are they worth?
Cheers,
T.

Have you looked at the classiclightweights.co.uk website?
Not a huge amount of information there but at least, some history.
Auction activity does not suggest that there is very much demand for them here in the U.S. Recently concluded auctions were, like your bike, from Australia. One U.K. seller has listed a pair at $65 more than once without selling.
My guess is that they’re not going to make you rich. If you like ’em, use ‘em, if someone will trade you something that you like better, trade.
Regards,
Alan

Thanks
Thanks for that. I had looked at classiclightweights, and was hoping for a bit more info, but if not, then nevermind.
