What could you sell on that bike to recoupe your money. I don't really see anything, other than the crank. You may get 10-15 for it.

Looks like alloy bars. If that's correct, there's always someone who picked up a really nice low end Schwinn, Nishiki, Fuji, etc. that has chrome bars. A nice upgrade, while retaping an old bike is to add alloy bars. So I would guess you could get $5-8 for the bars on CL. That LeTour derailer is probably worth a few dollars on ebay. With the brakes and the cranks, you could probably get your money back.
Darn shame about that bike, thats a really nice color in the pics. If it wasn't damaged it would have been a good find. |
I am partial to orange bikes, I think you can probably de-grease some of the components, take nice pictures and get your money back pretty easy on eBay.

Hey I'll take the bars if they aren't bent. E-mail sent

That crank looks like a version of the Silstar on my World Sport I converted to single speed. If so, it has the obsolete 118 BCD on the small ring, some large BCD>151 on the large ring, and uses smaller diameter than standard chainring bolts. I used it for a the SS conversion by putting a larger 118 ring on the inside and ditching the outer ring. Had to drill out the boltholes, too, and use regular (double) bolts.
What make/model saddle is that? I got about $8 total for a similar brakeset (calipers and levers). And I reused the hubs on the SS - actually spin really well with new g25 bearings. Got a couple a bux for the pedals, and a couple for the stem shifters, too. The freewheel went for about $5. |
Sold! ;)
