Basso Frame Info?
I'm looking at buying a Basso Frame 1990's? No sticker on Tube but I assume it's Columbus. Paint is Red /White/Blue Scheme and the Chromed forks say OMNI OE-07 on it. Anyone have any info on what this is and what the value might be (in fair condition)?

Um, photos? A bit out of our time frame here, but photos may get you some useful information anyway.

Nice bike.
Fork might not be original (the Bassos I saw had a pantographed "B" on the crown). This fork looks tight! Tubing should be Columbus (if seatpost is 27.2mm look for helicoidal splines in the tubes joining the BB to check if it's SLX). 1st digit in the serial number (on BB shell) should indicate year of manufacture. Basso were (and still are) a reputable bike manufacturer so in good condition you might pay 200$ for this frame. |
Looks like a Basso Gap, same as mine except mine is all blue, rear brake cable runs along channel on top tube Columbus SL tube, set hope this helps.

Thanks for the info!

looks like a late-80's bike. definitely not the original fork, and probably not a 'gap' (all of which had internally routed rear brake cables i believe). very similar to one that passed through my hands recently...seat cluster, tri-color paint, decal font, single chrome stay.
see the photos here: basso mine was a 'tretubi', which denotes an SL main triangle and builder's choice stays and fork. if you don't find the previously mentioned 'helicoil splines' (aka: 'rifling', like in a gun barrel) yours may very well be this. |

I bought it without stickers and repainted it as the painting was not good. So I don't know which model is it. Coral and champion seems to look like it.

Yup.
Still, I will assume there was a reason. I'm an opportunity that way. |

I thought better the reencarnation of and old thread than open a new thread with the same subject.
