Painters
My son picked up a 80's IBIS cyclecross frame on ebay awhile back - in my opinion paid way to much money, but I guess they are sort of rare anf the bidding was fierce. It has a lousey two tone paint job. He now has new decals and needs a painter to strip it and do a single color powercoat and clear the decals on. He's in Houston, Texas - I hoping you guys know someone in his area or at least in Texas to recomend - is it possible to do this for $200.00?

I think you'd have to send the bike to a powdercoater and then to a painter for decals and clearcoat. I'd have it done in wet paint and forget the powdercoat myself.

If the "decals" are vinyl adhesive backed, then powder is fine with no clearcoat. For powder in Houston, the only place I would go to is Precision powder in Spring (up 45 N a few miles) Do not go to Myrmidon out on
290. I had nothing but problems with them. Brittle coating, super thick, inside of seat/head tube coated, etc.,,,,BD |
