Vintage light accessory age????
3 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone, I have been away from the site working on the home bathroom remodel etc. I picked this lamp accessory up at an estate sale today. Anyone know what year, vintage bike etc. this might have been used for. I suspect 50's or earlier but honestly I haven't a clue. Hear are a few pics. It also has a set of white Ever ready leak proof batteries that were still in it. The batteries sold for 20 cents a piece. Anyway, take a look. Fairly clean overall some minor wear but not bad considering possible age. Anyone know anything about the accessory manufacturer?
PS. Also picked up a Trek 820 that looks to be fairly new at a pretty reasonable price. It is in Black and yellow and defintely has low miles. I have been riding it around etc. Not that bad a bad bike to play with. Thanks Dwaine |
well, its a beautiful lamp, in pristine condition...and you know the date is later than 1907...but "Aero" was a stylistic signature from the late 20's till, ah, well, I just bought an aerodynamic rotary phone that was built this year...
I dunno. I'm trying to search the patents database right now and can't seem to get in...seiss held a US patent in 1940. If I do manage to get in I'll post the results here. |
Luker,
thanks for the reply. the lamp actually has a stamped pat. no. 2301714. if you have a way of cross referencing that pat.# let me know. Thanks for the reply. |
Patent No. 2,301,714 was issued on November 10, 1942, to E. E. Seiss of Toledo, OH. Dig that signature.
